Singapore is a confluence and melting pot of many races, languages and religions, attracting people from many countries to work, study and live in the country. This presents tremendous opportunities to reach the transcient residents with the Gospel. Initial outreach to the Burmese, Hong Kongers and Japanese communities in Singapore had resulted in two Burmese, one Cantonese and one Japanese churches engaged in active local worship and outreach.
EnGuang Outreach is a focused ministry to Chinese migrant workers, providing weekly Worship, Fellowship and Bible Study. Held every Sunday evening at Thomson Road Baptist Church, its ministry includes local pastoral care and annual visit to those who had returned to their provinces in China. There are many opportunities for volunteers to teach in the Bible Study classes and sponsorship of transportation and meals for the migrant workers. Several Baptist churches have also established similar ministry as part of their local outreach ministry.
