Theme: “Created, Transformed and Empowered to Reach Out”

“710 delegates from 19 countries gathered joyfully for all teaching sessions, and the 60th Anniversary Dinner at the Gurney Resort Hotel. 20 delegates from Singapore were represented by 7 Baptist churches, many of whom were attending the Asian Baptist Women’s Union (ABWU) Conference for the first-time.
The delegates representing Singapore presented the song, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, which was sung at the Billy Graham Rally in 1978. The zeal and joyful spirit at the Assembly was simply contagious. The powerful theme song and sharing spoke to the hearts of all attendees. The faithfulness of many “old guards” conveyed a strong legacy of ABWU.
In the midst of celebration during the opening ceremony night, we mourned in sadness with Mrs Lalrinzuali from Mizoram Baptist Church, India for the loss of her second eldest 22-year-old son, due to a severe asthmatic attack. She courageously stayed on in spite of the pain and agony, dancing with her home team on the stage. The funeral took place at her home the following day.
We hope to see a greater participation at the next Assembly in 2023 at Myanmar.”
