List of Activities for Volunteering

1. Tour-guide for Tour on 1 May 2022

We will be organizing a tour to the Gardens by the Bay on 1 May 2022 for the foreign workers from Tukang Dormitory. We need 20 volunteers to act as tour-guides and to take care of the workers (in groups of 4) during the tour. Online training will be provided before the event.

2. Training Instructors

If you have a passion for teaching and training, and you are Bilingual (Chinese / English, written and spoken), we’d like you to volunteer to be trained as a Training Instructor. You will be conducting simple training courses to the foreign workers in the dormitory. The training is focused on teaching the Room ICs to identify those among their roommates who are depressed or are facing problems. The first batch of trained Instructors will become the next trainers for future volunteers.

3. Befrienders

We are looking for volunteers to do bi-weekly visitations to the foreign workers’ dormitories for the purpose of befriending them and spending time to get know them. You will:

  1. Provide a listening ear and help (if possible)
  2. Get their contact information
  3. Help to install Zoom software
  4. Seek out Christians and form a bible study group together

You can start immediately by completing the duty roster form. We will contact you for more details.

4. Physical Instructors / Trainers

If you are a Gym Trainer, Physical Training Instructor, or Physiotherapist, we would like you to join us to conduct regular P.E. sessions for the foreign workers in the dormitories. Our aim is to provide them with some basic physical relief from back pains, shoulder pains, etc.
